What is an Irish shawl?
The Galway shawl, referred to as "seál na Gaillimhe" in Irish, now evolved into Irish shawl was a heavy shawl worn by Irish women during colder seasons. It gained popularity in the late 1800s and continued to be worn by some traditional older Irish women until the 1950s.

What is the name of the Irish cape?
The Kinsale Cloak, also named the West Cork Cloak or Irish Cloak, developed from the cloak spanning tradition in West of European and in Ireland since the Bronze Age. Overtime the cloak has evolved into a four-cornered "brat" worn by both rich and poor social classes.
